Forward Deployed Engineer

Series A Legal-AI Company • South Bay Area (On-site)
Location

About the company

Our client is a Series A AI company building systems for enterprise legal teams — the in-house counsel and legal operations groups inside large organisations. Founded in 2023, around 80 people, with $105M raised. Legal is a domain where a wrong answer is expensive, so the product has to earn trust from a sceptical, detail-driven audience.

The role

Forward deployed means you sit between the customer and the product: on-site with enterprise legal teams, understanding how they actually work, then building the integrations, workflows and configuration that make the platform fit. Part engineer, part solutions architect — you'll write real code, but the work starts with a customer problem rather than a ticket.

What you'll do

  • Work directly with enterprise legal teams to understand their workflows
  • Build integrations, workflows and configuration that fit the platform to each customer
  • Turn what you learn on-site into feedback that shapes the core product
  • Own technical delivery through to a customer being genuinely live
  • Move between customer conversations and hands-on engineering daily
