About the company

Our client is a venture-backed AI holding company that acquires established US engineering firms and modernises them with applied AI. Founded in 2025 and around 12 people today, they don't sell software into the industry — they buy the firms outright and rebuild how the work actually gets done, which means everything the engineering team ships lands in the hands of real users immediately.

The role

This is a founding seat: you'll be the CTO's direct partner and the person who establishes the platform practice from the ground up. You'll build the core infrastructure that every product surface is deployed on, for an AI-driven solution in the civil and structural engineering space — a market with almost no serious technical competition. There is no existing platform team and no playbook handed to you: you'll set the architecture, the standards and the culture of how infrastructure is done here.

What you'll do

  • Establish the platform practice from scratch — architecture, tooling, standards and deployment story
  • Build and own the core infrastructure the whole product is deployed on
  • Partner directly with the CTO on the technical decisions that set the company's trajectory
  • Own cloud infrastructure and CI/CD end-to-end, from provisioning through to production reliability
  • Set the engineering culture for infrastructure as the team grows past its first handful of engineers
