Senior Fullstack Engineer, Payments
About the company
Our client is a Series B consumer marketplace building the real-time payments and double-entry ledger rails behind a high-value trading platform. The money moving through the system is not micro-transactions — individual transfers routinely run into six figures — so the ledger and the payment rails underneath it are the product, not plumbing bolted on beside it. They have raised north of $100M and are backed by some of the best-known names in payments infrastructure.
The role
You would own money movement: the real-time payment flows and the double-entry ledger that has to reconcile against them, every time. It is a backend-heavy full-stack seat — roughly 70% backend — in Python and TypeScript, with React on the front end. The hiring manager is explicit that this is an AI-native team: daily use of AI coding tools is expected, not tolerated, and she weighs demonstrated AI fluency more heavily than a strict year count.
What you'll do
- Build and own real-time payment flows moving large sums — $100K+ transfers, not micro-transactions
- Design and maintain the double-entry ledger the whole platform reconciles against
- Work backend-heavy full-stack in Python and TypeScript, with React on the front end
- Integrate and harden payment processors and money-movement infrastructure
- Use AI coding tools daily as a genuine multiplier on your own output
