AI Product Engineer / Forward Deployed Engineer

About the company

Our client is a fast-growing, YC-backed startup of about 15 people selling a trust platform for voice AI agents: testing before launch, red-teaming and monitoring in production. Customers include Fortune 100 banks and healthcare companies, and more than half the team are former founders.

The role

Forward deployed engineers join customers at the proof-of-concept stage and then own their success. Half of the week is spent with customers, who are mostly engineers building voice agents, and half is spent specifying and shipping the fixes into the product yourself. This hire adds enterprise capacity. The client values AI-native workflow fluency and design sense above domain knowledge, which they can teach.

What you'll do

• Work directly with enterprise customers from proof of concept onward
• Turn vague customer asks into shipped features, without waiting for a spec
• Build complete product slices across APIs, data and UI in TypeScript and Python
• Use AI coding tools every day to spec, build and ship faster
• Write crisp recaps and close the loop with customers and the team

Nice to have

• Founder or entrepreneurial background
• Experience with enterprise customers
• Startup or founder-led team experience with end-to-end ownership
• Voice AI or LLM evaluation experience

Tech stack

TypeScript, Python, React and Next.js, with voice AI tooling as a bonus.

Compensation & logistics

• $140k–$180k base + competitive equity
• Remote in North America; offices in San Francisco and Austin; 10–20% travel
• OPT and H-1B transfers welcome; no new sponsorship
