About the company

Our client is an early-stage venture capital firm that backs breakout startups and builds much of its own internal software. The team works closely with founders, investors and portfolio companies.

The role

This is a rare engineering seat inside a venture firm. You would build and run the firm's internal tools while learning the business side of venture capital: evaluating startups, supporting technical diligence and building a network among founders, investors and executives. It suits a brilliant, hungry, entrepreneurial engineer with 2 to 5 years of full-stack experience.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain internal software, including sourcing and sales CRMs and portfolio management tools
  • Work with the investment team on technical diligence for new investments
  • Help vet technical candidates for portfolio companies and solve tough engineering problems with them
  • Build a strong network across founders, investors and executives

Nice to have

  • Prior experience as a founder
  • Proof of work you can share, such as GitHub or a personal site

Tech stack

Python, TypeScript, React and GCP.

Compensation & logistics

  • $180k base + competitive equity
  • On-site five days a week in San Francisco or New York
  • No visa sponsorship: open only to candidates already authorized to work in the US who will not need sponsorship now or in the future
