About the company
Our client is a Series A healthcare AI company in New York that pairs AI with expert clinicians to take on clinical support work for care teams, at a scale human teams cannot reach. Several agents are already live in production — covering work such as patient recall, prior authorisation and visit preparation — with several more in deep development. The company is well funded, was founded in 2024, and the team is still under fifty people, so every agent has a clear owner and the scope that comes with a team of this size.
The role
This is not a traditional product management role. You would run a portfolio of clinical AI agents the way a general manager runs a small business: owning each one from concept through deployment and iteration, running sprint planning with engineering, and shipping what was promised. You are expected in the codebase — reviewing pull requests, contributing code with AI-assisted tools, and pressure-testing engineering decisions — and in front of customers, gathering requirements and scoping new agent builds around real clinical workflows. You would report to the co-founder who leads product and work most closely with the general manager who leads clinical AI. You would not own the client relationship: sales and a deployment team hold that, while you own how the agents perform end to end.
What you'll do
- Own clinical AI agents from concept through deployment and iteration, running sprint planning with engineering and keeping delivery on track
- Get into the codebase: review pull requests, contribute code with AI-assisted tools, and pressure-test engineering decisions
- Meet clients and customers to gather requirements, understand pain points and scope new agent builds around real clinical workflows
- Set how agents are evaluated and monitored in production — performance metrics, failure modes and the next iteration
- Roadmap each agent you own, and turn repeated client needs into reusable capabilities
Nice to have
- Healthcare experience in clinical operations, health tech or healthcare AI
- Founding engineer, CTO, technical co-founder or early product hire at a startup
- Production work in TypeScript or JavaScript with React or Node, named in a dated role
- Forward-deployed or client-facing technical work, gathering requirements directly from customers
- Consulting experience combined with real engineering or technical product work
- Three to five years of total experience, at companies under 500 people and ideally under 200
- Has owned a product or an AI agent end to end, from customer requirements through production and iteration
Tech stack
TypeScript and JavaScript with Node.js and React, Airflow, dbt and Snowflake on the data side, and AI/ML and large language models at the centre of the product. The team works with AI-assisted coding tools day to day, though the bar is that you can dig into and understand a codebase yourself rather than only prompting a tool.
Compensation & logistics
- $175k–$250k base plus Series A equity with real upside
- Hybrid in New York — three or more days a week in the Flatiron office, which is a hard requirement
- Relocation to New York within four to eight weeks if you are not already there; no formal package, though a sign-on bonus is possible
- No visa sponsorship of any kind and no visa transfers — candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not need visa sponsorship or a visa transfer now or in the future
- One hire now, with a second possible later
- Interview process: a 15 to 30 minute screen with the co-founder who leads product, a 30-minute round with the general manager for clinical AI, then a four to five hour on-site covering a prototyping working session with the founders and cross-functional meetings with operations, engineering and deployment, sometimes reference checks, then an offer
- Full-time
