About the company

Our client is a fast-growing consumer app that uses AI for outfit generation, virtual try-on and a new social feed. It ranks among the top 100 apps in the US and a dozen other countries, processes millions of images every day, and has been recognised by major fashion, technology and business publications. The engineering team is small and elite, with people from top CS programs and well-known consumer companies.

The role

This is a full-stack seat on a team of about six engineers working directly with the founder and CEO. You would scale backend infrastructure for rapidly growing user data, ship polished frontend features through an experimentation pipeline, and help build the ranking and recommendation systems behind the social feed. It suits an engineer with 2 to 6 years of end-to-end experience on consumer products who likes to ship fast and iterate on real user feedback.

What you'll do

  • Scale backend infrastructure that doubles in capacity every few weeks and handles several image uploads per second
  • Build polished, snappy frontend experiences in React and Next.js and ship them through a robust A/B testing pipeline
  • Work on data pipelines that ingest and process catalogs from thousands of brands
  • Contribute to ranking and recommendation systems for the social feed, including follow suggestions and personalization
  • Ship end-to-end features in a fast, experimental environment

  • Built consumer-facing products at scale
  • Interest in shopping or social consumer apps
  • Design- and product-minded; enjoys building fast, beautiful UIs
  • Swift or iOS development experience

Tech stack

React, Next.js, TypeScript, Python, Node.js and SwiftUI.

Compensation & logistics

  • $175k–$250k base + competitive equity
  • On-site five days a week in SoHo, New York
  • No visa sponsorship: open only to candidates already authorized to work in the US who will not need sponsorship now or in the future
